Foster Love and Safelite Foundation Team Refurbish Two Family Partnerships’ Visitation Rooms for Families
Orlando, FL – October 18, 2025 – Through a transformational partnership between Safelite Foundation and Foster Love, a nonprofit dedicated to improving conditions for foster youth across the nation, Family Partnerships of Central Florida (FPOCF) became the sixth location out of 50 stops planned across the U.S. to receive donated facility makeovers. Two family visitation rooms at FPOCF’s two-story 4001 Pelee St. facility in Orlando received fresh coats of wall paint, new furniture, play items, and decorations including inspirational wall-mural art.
The community effort is directed under the Safe Spaces initiative launched in 2024 and involving the donation of $1 million of refurbishment work and 100,000 volunteer hours between Safelite and Foster Love to improve the lives of foster children nationwide.
“We were all amazed at how awesome the rooms turned out, and we believe the children and families who use these rooms will be equally impressed,” said FPOCF President and CEO Phil Scarpelli. The renovation took less than four days to complete, with FPOCF employees presented with the surprise makeovers at an unveiling event.
“We can’t thank these two wonderful organizations enough,” added Scarpelli. “Now we are part of a fantastic initiative taking place across our nation. For the children who visit our facility, they will experience a brighter and more joyful space to spend family time with their mothers and fathers.”
Scarpelli adds that with the nonprofit’s resources focused on programs and services directly benefiting children and families’ needs, facility enhancements can be secondary in priorities until the right financial time. “Fortunately, organizations such as these two amazing partners and their volunteers have stepped up to support with this inspiring assistance,” he said. “This is more than just a coat of paint – it’s a tangible demonstration for our foster children that their community loves and cares about their happiness.”
Visitation rooms are used in child-welfare facilities for parents and children to interact under supervision when families are going through the reunification process. “We want these visits to be nurturing experiences for the children, some of whom have gone through traumatic experience during the separation and now can begin the healing process,” added Scarpelli.
Across Central Florida, Family Partnerships, as the lead child-welfare agency supporting Brevard, Osceola, Seminole and Orange Counties, operates seven facilities with 124,618 combined squared footage.
