MELBOURNE, FL – In an effort to raise awareness of the many children in Brevard County available for adoption and in recognition of National Adoption Month, Brevard Family Partnership, in partnership with the Avenue Viera will host its fourth annual “Walk for Love” on Saturday, November 14. Registration will begin at 8:15 a.m. and the walk will begin at 9:00 a.m.
The walk will commence and conclude at the Courtyard in the Avenue Viera with the halfway point at Brevard County Government Center. Led by Unified Court Judge Charlie Crawford and his staff, over 200 people are expected to participate including community leaders, Brevard Family Partnership staff members and child welfare providers.
The public is invited join in the walk and there is no charge to participate. Lunch will be provided for all participants upon completion. Entertainment and children’s activities, including a moon walk will be featured before and after the event. Local adoption service providers will also be on hand to answer questions and provide information.
According to the Administration for Children and Families, more than 129,000 children are available for adoption each year. Since 2005, Brevard Family Partnership has helped place over 330 children in “forever homes” with loving families.
