MELBOURNE, FL – Jim Carlson, chief operations officer at Brevard Family Partnership has been honored with the Jim Strayer Award for Leadership from the Florida Coalition for Children. The award was presented at the organization’s annual conference, held recently in Orlando.
The award is presented to an individual who has demonstrated the commitment to excellence, vision, gentle leadership style, and the love and compassion for children that so characterizes Jim Strayer, recognized as the architect of programs and services provided by the Florida Sheriff’s Youth Ranches and who continues to be an impassioned advocate for children throughout the state.
“Jim is very deserving of this prestigious award,” said Brevard Family Partnership’s CEO, Dr. Patricia Nellius-Guthrie. “His commitment to protecting our most vulnerable children while helping the staff he supervises become better in their jobs and careers is evident by the outstanding programs and services we’re able to offer to those children and families in our care.”
Carlson has been involved in human services since beginning work in 1995 as a public assistance specialist for the Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services. He joined Brevard Family Partnership in June, 2006 as director of operations for Quality and Fidelity. In his current role he oversees all care management related activities, as well as quality improvement, training, revenue maximization, and adoptions.
