MELBOURNE, FL – Cyndi Hernandez, public relations coordinator for Brevard Family Partnership, Brevard County’s lead child welfare agency, received the Support Staff of the Year award from the Florida Coalition for Children at their annual conference, held recently in Jacksonville, FL.
Hernandez was the first statewide recipient of the new award. The Coalition presented the honor, recognizing her as a “team player who, though she may not have direct contact with the children served, without her contribution the agency’s mission and vision could not be fulfilled.”
“It’s an honor to work with someone who’s as committed to our agency and the children and families we serve,” said Geo Ropert, BFP’s director of communications. “Cyndi’s tireless efforts to promote our mission have raised the community’s awareness of Brevard Family Partnership and the important role we and our community partners play in protecting children and strengthening families.”
With BFP since 2007, Hernandez is responsible for management of the agency’s many special events, coordinating its media campaigns, and executing marketing strategies with staff and agency partners to promote the mission, vision, and goals of BFP. Additionally, Hernandez is secretary of the Brevard Child Abuse Prevention Task Force, as well as secretary of the Space Coast Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association. She is a member of the Community Impact Volunteer program at United Way of Brevard, the Parenting Workshop committee through Brevard Public Schools, the Florida Coalition for Children’s Communications Council, and Title I District Advisory Committee.
