CBC of Brevard changes name to Brevard Family Partnership
MELBOURNE, FL – In an effort to better communicate its mission and promote its scope of community impact and outreach to the children and families residing within Brevard County, Community Based Care of Brevard, Brevard County’s lead child welfare agency has changed its public brand name to Brevard Family Partnership.
The name change is the result of a corporate vision to better reflect the mission and purpose of community based care across the broader community and identify it as the lead child welfare and prevention agency that helps to bring together the resources of many partners and providers who are critical to protecting children and building strong families.
“Through internal and external research we became aware that the term ‘community based care’ was ambiguous in terms of identifying our agency with the role we play in helping to prevent child abuse and neglect throughout the Space Coast,” said CBC of Brevard’s CEO, Dr. Patricia Nellius-Guthrie. “It also doesn’t represent the services we provide to families who are not in the child welfare system, through programs like Brevard C.A.R.E.S. that help families address and overcome the stressors in their lives before they lead to situations that could put their children’s health and welfare in jeopardy.”
The agency will retain its corporate identity as Community Based Care of Brevard, Inc. but will do business as Brevard Family Partnership.
A new logo, website and domain name (www.fpocf.org) will complement a marketing campaign utilizing both traditional and emerging media to help raise awareness of the name change and also do more to encourage families to seek help in times of need and invite adults to consider becoming foster or adoptive parents.
