The Florida Department of Children & Families ACCESS Application Center located at 705 Blake Avenue, Bldg E, Room ES8 in Cocoa will relocate to Byrd Plaza, 801 Dixon Blvd, Suite 1103 in Cocoa. The current Center will close at 3 p.m. on January 5, 2010, and the new Center will be open for business on January 7, 2010.
DCF does not anticipate this closure to adversely impact services in the community, as the Department’s ACCESS model encourages current and potential applicants to utilize web services at www.myflorida.com/ACCESSflorida as well as 1-866-76ACCES, in place of visiting local offices. In addition, those without access to a computer can go to a number of community partners or apply at any other convenient location with internet access.
Residents who still wish to apply for benefits in person may do so at the Brevard County ACCESS Application Center located at 801 Dixon Blvd, Suite 1103, in Cocoa beginning January 7, 2010.
Using the ACCESS Florida system, residents can apply for benefits such as Food Stamps, Medicaid, and Cash Assistance for Needy Families. Applicants can apply for benefits, locate a community partner, even check the status of their case at www.myflorida.com/ACCESSflorida. Individuals may also report a change or request benefit information by calling toll-free: 1-866-76ACCES (1-866-762-2237).
The Department is committed to establishing future community partners within Brevard County to make the application process even more accessible to all residents.
