Naomi Mazuta with her Outstanding Youth Advocate Award and Pamela Bress with her Outstanding Child Advocate Award.

Family Partnerships joined in celebrating two child-welfare champions at the Florida Children’s First Children Awards held Oct. 8 in Orlando. Past winners were also in attendance along with several local and state government officials. This year’s winners were Naomi Mazuta for Outstanding Youth Advocate. Naomi helped advocate for critically important legislative changes to the child-welfare system in Tallahassee along with her Florida Youth Shine peers. Pamela Bress, Ways for Life founder and executive director, won the Outstanding Child Advocate Award. Bress has spent her extensive career advocating for children through legal work and at Ways for Life. This was the 20th anniversary of holding the award ceremony.
